Josh and Will Garner
Josh and Will Garner are talented young sailors from Jan Juc, Victoria.
Josh will be attending the World Cadet Championships in Plymouth, UK during July 2024, after winning the Australian Cadet Champs.
Can you tell us about your background in sailing?
Josh: I started sailing in a cadet as a seven year old and the community kept me there, I often sail cadets against friends for some good fun competiton.
Will: I started sailing when my dad introduced me to it.
What is your most memorable experience on the water?
Josh: Winning the 62nd International Cadet Australian Championship, it was a great feeling as to win an Australian championship had been a long-term goal of mine, and in that moment I finally felt the hard work had paid off.
Will: Competing in the cadet world championships.
What's the best piece of advice you've received?
Josh: If you have done the training, you have nothing to worry about. And forget about the little things, move past mistakes you can't change.
